Toyota Camry Hybrid has undergone an additional update in June 2016 including front and rear corner parking sensors an Atara, with the S variant gaining a 4.2-inch digital information display in the dash. The range topping Atara SL now comes with a wireless phone charger.
Camry Hybrid comes in 3 variants, Altise, Atara S and Atara SL and includes a suite of potentially life-saving technologies, including
a pre-collision safety system. Camry also features optional 18-inch wheels for the first time in Australia.
The hybrid model line-up now extends to 3 grades - Altise, Atara S and Atara SL are available with the petrol or hybrid petrol-electric drivetrains. Hybrid variants deliver 151kW maximum power from a fuel-sipping Atkinson Cycle version of the 2.5-litre petrol engine combined with a 105kW electric drive motor. Remarkably, it sips only 5.2L/100km[G1] of fuel, less than many small cars. VIEW THE CAMRY RANGE >

The upgraded Toyota Camry & Hybrid range has three audio head units, all with touch-screen displays, Bluetooth®, auxiliary/USB port, AM/FM radio and a CD player. Altise has a six-speaker audio with 6.1-inch screen that also displays the image from the reversing camera. Atara S and SX models is upgraded with voice recognition and Toyota Link. Flagship Atara SL has a premium JBL 10-speaker audio with JBL GreenEdge amplifier, seven-inch touch screen and Matrix 5.1 channel surround system. Atara models are now fitted with front and rear corner parking sensors, with the S variant also gaining a 4.2-inch digital information display in the dash.
Camry's upgraded cockpit includes revised instruments and an upgraded multi-information display (MID) on hybrid grades and the petrol Atara SL, as well as new three-spoke steering wheels and freshened upholstery across the range. The new instrument cluster in the hybrid grades and petrol Atara SL features three-dimensional Optitron gauges for greater ease of reading in all ambient light conditions. A new full-colour 4.2-inch thin-film-transistor screen, nestled between the Optitron dials, provides intuitive in-car electronics and displays that help reduce distractions for the driver. Atara SL now comes with a wireless phone charger.
The Camry Atara SL introduces an impressive suite of potentially life-saving technologies that use radar sensors and a windscreen-mounted camera to help prevent collisions or mitigate the force of impact. The new technologies are in addition to Camry's standard 5 Stat ANCAP rated equipment that includes seven airbags, a reversing camera, vehicle stability and traction control, and anti-skid brakes with brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution. Camry Atara SL also gains a new pre-crash safety* system that uses a radar sensor in the radiator grille to warn the driver of a possible collision and can automatically apply the brakes. The Atara SL also gains active cruise control to help maintain a safe distance from the car in front. All models are now fitted with ISOFIX child safety points.
Hybrid variants use the high-efficiency Atkinson cycle 2AR-FXE engine, which has a higher compression ratio of 12.5:1 compared with the 2AR-FE's 10.4:1. Maximum combined power is 151kW from the combination of the 2AR-FXE petrol engine and a 105kW electric drive motor. The hybrid driveline delivers the fuel economy of a smaller car, sipping just 5.2 litres/100km on the official combined cycle with CO2 emissions of just 121g/km*. An electronically controlled all-gear continuously variable transmission (E-CVT) seamlessly provides the ideal gearing for all driving scenarios. It is a tour-de-force in packaging and weight efficiency, with a set of compound planetary gears performing three roles.
